I wanted to be a Keynote Speaker ever since I was 10 years old. I was born in 1971 (in Vancouver, Canada), so I grew up watching Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher (UK), and Brian Mulroney (Canada) on TV. I also watched the two pastors at my local church, and was mesmerized by their ability to tell stories and convey a message.

My dream came true in 2007 when I was 36 years old. I went full-time as a Keynote Speaker, but my career didn't really take off until 2015. That's when I finally started to understand how the industry works, and how to promote myself strategically, even though I wasn't famous at all. The result? I ended up with more bookings, higher speaking fees, and less work!

When you figure out the marketing, being a Keynote Speaker is the best career imaginable. You get to live your PURPOSE, make an impact on the world, travel to exotic destinations (many conferences are held at resort properties), and earn a great income along the way.

My speaking fee for domestic events (including Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean) is $17,500 USD plus $1,500 flat-rate travel, and my fee for international (overseas) events is $22,500 USD plus business class travel. If you're doing 20 or 30 events each year, you can make a incredible income as a Keynote Speaker. My best year was $478,500 in speaking fees!

Today, I'm in my 50s and don't want to do as much traveling as I used to. I still do domestic (USA and also Canada) events but avoid the international stuff for the most part. Anyway, this is the right time for me to share my secrets and help other aspiring speakers, people just like you, to understand the industry and kick-start their careers.
